Technologically Advanced

My brother started the trend, and now my whole family has web cams in order to stay in touch and be able to see each other. We just got ours for Christmas and my parents were the first ones we "skyped". I was holding Eliza and I turned her around so that they could see her. At one point my mom said, "Whoops, she spit up." So my mom in Culpeper, told me that my daughter, who was sitting on my lap, had spit up. Isn't technology amazing?

Lots of Calories

So you know how they say that when your bring a new baby home, the older siblings will act out? Well, Hazel and Bailey have been adjusting pretty well to Eliza, but they have been getting into things when left alone.
This morning we were gone for about an hour and somebody left the pantry door open (I am not naming names). There was a box of 100 calorie packs on the floor in the pantry. I guess the dogs felt they needed some extra calories for the holidays...they literally opened every one.

That's quite a bit more than 100 calories.
I am not laughing yet.

And when Steve came home yesterday, he looked at Eliza and said, "She's like a crucifix!"

We are looking forward to being with both our families

Last Pre-Baby post!

Bailey enjoyed some peanut butter on the deck.
Hazel loves sitting in the sun.

Hazel got to interact with Jillian. (J looks upset but she was fine)
Hazel was very interested in her, especially when she made noise.

We have a nursery at long last! Check out the babysite for more pictures!

October

38 weeks! It's hard to believe.
We are slowly getting ready for Baby. The office has been moved to the guest room and the nursery is filling up with baby things. While I can't say that the pregnancy has gone by quickly, it's really crazy to be 2 weeks from our due date. The baby seems to be running out of room and gets hiccups every day. This is my last week of work. I love my job, but it's getting harder and harder to be there every day, so having an end in sight is great. We are hoping that the baby will wait until at least November 1 so that I have a little bit of time off before life changes!
I've started a baby website and that is what we plan to update
when the big day arrives.
So bookmark it now!

Bailey loves sleeping under the dining room table.

This was cute while it lasted.

Back to School

Said by adults:
"You blossomed over the summer."
"Do you have a name picked out?"
"You didn't have the baby over the summer?" ( I really didn't think that I was showing that much in June)
"Have you named the baby?"
"You're going to be out to *here* in November."
"Do you have a name?"
"Your belly has gotten bigger in just one week."

FYI- We don't have a name yet. We've decided that when we do pick a name, we are going to keep it to ourselves until the baby arrives. Everyone knows it's a girl, so we wanted to still have a surprise.

Said by kids:
"Are you growing a baby?"
"Do you know what kind of baby you are having?"
"What does your baby sound like?" -as she puts her head against my stomach.
"How's your baby?" -ever single time she sees me.
"You're gonna have to stay home when you have that baby."
"The Dr. can cut that baby out of your stomach."

People are also saying nice things...they just aren't as fun to post!

I am feeling pretty good. I think it's the combination of going back to work and being in the 3rd trimester that has me feeling more tired and achy. The baby is really moving a lot, which I love. It's reassuring and makes me anxious to meet her!

We have started accumulating baby things (stroller, car seat, cute little clothes...) which is also making it more real that she will be here soon. The nursery furniture should be here in September so we need to get going on dismantling the office. With both of us going back to work, that leaves very little time...especially when somebody is playing kickball and soccer and attending hours long Fantasy Football draft sessions. It will get done though. 70 days to the due date!
