Eliza's First *Real* Haircut

Eliza's hair has been growing fast, but is not even all around. For that reason, I had to get rid of her rat tail back in the Spring. We have a Snip Its now, so we tried that out last week.

She got to play while we waited.

She put on a special cape and watched cartoons during the hair cut.

She did a great job and sat perfectly still.

At the end she put some of her hair in the machine and got a special prize.

(It probably doesn't look very different to you. We just trimmed the back and a little on the sides. I want to grow it out so I decided not to do bangs...which means we still struggle with keeping a barrette in to keep it out of her face!)

Halloween 2010

Pumpkin loose on the Lawn

We went to The Lawn for the first time this year. I knew there would be a lot of people there but I had no idea it was as crazy as it was. You had to wait in line to walk around to the rooms for candy. We just hung out and visited with some friends, then headed home for our neighborhood Trick or Treating.
Eliza tried to share her candy with Owen. She got about 5 pieces total from the 3 houses we went to and they occupied her for an hour. She put them in her basket, took them out, lined them up on the table, and basically melted the chocolate.

Owen is 2 weeks old!

Owen has had some great nights this week. Last night he slept from 10-3. We didn't see that with Eliza until MUCH later, so we are pleased.

Eliza is warming up to her brother. She asked to hold him three times today and
is finally saying his name...sometimes.

Greenfield Farm

Our sweet Eliza has a lot of energy...so Sunday afternoon
we went to Greenfield Farm to
let her run around in the crazy October heat.

Owen and Eliza

How smart is it to follow an almost two year old through the corn maze?

I didn't realize I would have to worry about the sun this late in October!

Eliza loved picking up the pumpkins and putting them on the hay bale,
then "cleaning up" and putting them back.

Getting Ready for School

The school that Eliza will attend is right up the street from us.
It has great mountain views and a really cool playground.
